SIFGuard™ · IEC 61511 lifecycle management

Your SIF evidence. Connected. Audit-ready. Always.

SIFGuard keeps one structured, version-controlled record for every safety instrumented function. The documents you need are generated from that record, so they're never out of step with the engineering.

The problem

The records exist. The evidence chain doesn't.

Most SIF lifecycles are managed across Word documents, spreadsheets and standalone tools. The data is all there, but answering one auditor question can take days of manual assembly.

01

No connected record

Hazards, LOPA, SRS, verification and proof tests live in separate files, and nothing links them.

02

Silent staleness

Change one upstream value and nothing downstream knows it's now out of date.

03

Evidence under pressure

FSA and audit packs get assembled after the fact instead of built up as the work progresses.

04

No live view

SIF status, overdue proof tests and lifecycle gaps stay invisible until someone asks.

How it works

Data first. Documents second.

Engineers work in structured records. SIFGuard maintains the links and produces the deliverables.

01 · Capture
Hazards & LOPA

Import or enter scenarios and protection layers.

02 · Define
SIF record

SIL target, demand mode, inputs, logic, final elements.

03 · Link
Traceability

Every requirement traced back to its hazard.

04 · Approve
Version control

Draft, review, approve, with full history.

05 · Generate
Deliverables

SRS, LOPA and SIF summary reports.

Process values and machine states

Most tools assume a sensor crosses a limit and the SIF trips. In mining and materials handling, many critical functions act on machine state instead: position, motion, access and sequence. SIFGuard handles both, in one lifecycle and one evidence chain.

  • Process-triggered: high pressure, low flow, gas detection
  • State-triggered: conveyor running with a gate open, ship loader outside its safe envelope
